The context
The injector well was completed with 41/2in tubing and liner. This well was injecting into two different reservoirs. Both modeling and empirical data concluded that injection in the top reservoir pushed the gas cap to the oil producer wells, without providing meaningful pressure support. The client requested an Expandable Steel Patch to modify the injection profile.
The job objectives
Improving the injection in the lower reservoir with Saltel Patch was modeled: this would yield a 300Mbbl increase in cumulative production by 2020, decreasing gas oil rate (GOR) and improving the reservoir pressure support.
The solution

A 41/2in Saltel Reinforced Patch was selected and installed with ACTive coiled tubing.
The results
The patch was installed in 27 steps, and less than 5 hours. It was effectively drifted at 3.445in [87.5mm] during the setting process. The patch sealing efficiency stopped the injections in the top reservoir and successfully modified the injection profile, according to client’s latest data.
