Enhance annular integrity
Once fixed around the casing by welding or crimping, the completion Packer becomes part of the casing. Subsequently, the Packer sets in situ and provides a permanent and effective seal in the annulus. Saltel Expandable Steel Packer allows selective isolation of annulus sections.
What you know about Completion Packers?

A Completion Packer is a downhole device used in almost every completion to isolate the annulus from the production tubing. As a result, the Packer enables controlled production, injection, or treatment.
Typical packer assemblies :
- Include means of securing the Packer against the casing or liner wall, such as a slip arrangement.
- Offer means of creating a reliable hydraulic seal to isolate the annulus. Such hydraulic seal typically uses elastomer as skin element.
One can classify Completion Packers by application, setting method, and possible retrievability. Saltel Xpandable Steel Packer systems are quite critical tools in the tubing string. They cover a wide range of annular isolation applications and are not retrievable. We offer a wide range of types and sizes, designed or configured to meet specific wellbore or reservoir conditions, such as ECPs, AZIPs, or FracPackers.
Packers systems and associated tools’ essential requirement relates to flow from the formation. This requirement might also depend on the injection rates from the tubing string or production conduit into the formation. The completion packer must enable efficient flow and must not restrict average production or injection flow.
Openhole Packer or Cased Hole Packer selection.
Firstly, primary criteria will help you define which type of Xpandable steel Packer you need in your well.

Secondly, other criteria will help us best fitting to your application requirements: Are we talking about an open hole Packer or a cased hole completion Packer? what is the downhole temperature?
What differential Service Pressure Ratings (internal & external) do we have at the top and the bottom of the Packer? Then, What is the max. ID to be set in? On top of that, what will be the metallurgy of the packer, and its compatibility with the environment of your well?
