Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR)

Enhanced Oil Recovery techniques brought significant improvements. EOR improved the average recovery factor for typical mature oil fields worldwide to 30 – 40%. As a result, we gained more than 50 years of supply of oil. In other words, the different methods used increased the life cycle of oil and gas fields.

These techniques include:

Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR)
  • Water & Gas injection (WAG).
  • Polymer flooding.
  • Flow diversion.
  • The use of surfactants.
  • Steam injection for heavy oils (Steam Assisted Gravity drainage – SAGD wells, and cyclic steam injection (CSS wells).

All the EOR methods above help to increase the life of a field. On the other hand, Saltel Industries has developed a range of Expandable Steel Casing Patches. Most importantly, the Patches have unique characteristics for resolving many of these EOR concerns.

The Patches set with an Inflatable composite element. Once set, the Patches create a high-pressure inner lining in the casing. There are various applications. Consequently, the Patch can shut-off perforations, isolate specific zones, and restore casing integrity leaving max ID. Above all, Patches have even been developed for use in Steam Injection Wells at working temperatures of up to 335°C/635°F.
