President and Technology Development Manager

Jean-Louis SALTEL, 60, President and Technology Development Manager, created the company in 2004. Jean-Louis was previously Drillflex President from 1993 to 2003. He sold Drillflex, to Schlumberger in 2002. He has almost 17 years experience in the development of new technologies in the oil field industry. He filed 32 patents families in the oil domain, mainly on the elastomer composites and expandable technologies. He was previously Financial Manager then Managing Director of two important Services Companies in Civil Engineering domains. Jean-Louis is graduated from “Arts et Métier ParisTech” Grande Ecole (Mechanical Engineer) and from HEC MBA.

Marketing and Operation Director

James Leighton, 53, was Managing Director of Bretagne Innovation, responsible for coordinating innovation support in this region of Western France, before joining the company in 2009. Presently responsible for developing the use of Inflatable Packer Expandable Steel Technology in the oilfield, James was previously Marketing Director of Drillflex, after several years as Division Manager with Petrometalic. He started his career in the Middle East with Halliburton after graduating from Newcastle University in England in 1979. James is author of several SPE papers and articles, recently co-author of 4 patents awarded or pending for the use of expandable technology for remedial applications, as well as 12 other international patents. He acquired an MBA in Rennes in 2003.

Manufacturing Manager

Nicolas Saltel, 33, was previously a Product Engineer for an important investment casting company working for the aerospace industry. He was graduated with a Master of Science specialized in Manufacturing, right after a Mechanical Engineering Bachelor, passed in Bristol (UK). At the end of the development of the packers in 2005, he joined Saltel-Industries to manage the Manufacturing department. He implemented and administrates the ERP system, and also handles Procurement, Customer Care, Quality Sustaining as well as Health and Safety. He now takes charge of the manufacturing of sampling packers, Expandable Packers, Expandable Patches and down hole tools.

Research Coordinator

Benjamin SALTEL, 30, Mechanical Research Engineer & Research Coordinator, started in the company since its beginning in 2004. After developing the Inflatable Packers range of products, he developed with the R&D team the Expandable Patch Technologies and associated setting tools. As métier coordinator Benjamin introduced Technical, Calculation, Quality and HSE Best Practice in the company. He deployed the PLM from research to manufacturing process. Benjamin is co-author of 8 patents awarded or pending. Benjamin is graduated from “Arts et Métier ParisTech” Grande Ecole (Mechanical Engineer)

Operation Manager

Yoann Riou, 36, joined Saltel Industries as Project Engineer in 2004. He initially worked on the development of the Inflatable Packer Expandable Steel Technology, including the technology watch, marketing development, and operational procedures, and is co-author of 7 patents awarded or pending for the use of expandable technology. Previously operations engineer with Drillflex, then with Schlumberger (1997 – 2004) Yoann started his career in 1994 working in the R&D team developing the Patchflex technology. As Operations Manager since 2008 Yoann manages the flying squad of operations engineers, evaluates job feasibility, and organizes the equipment and procedures for Saltel Industries field operations around the world.
